Marmot’s Furlong Winter Jacket

Last year, my boyfriend surprised me with the Marmot’s Furlong Jacket in olive green.  I loved it so much; I purchased the same jacket in black for the upcoming season.  This jacket redefines comfort and style for the modern outdoors woman.  The form-fitting jacket features breathable, stretchable nylon that’s wind- and rain-resistant.  If it rains or snows, I simply put up faux-fur lined hood and I stay warm and dry.  With a variety of colors to choose from, it’s easy to find the perfect jacket.  It goes well with jeans, cords, khakis, and casual business attire.  I’ve even worn the jacket skiing during a mild day on the slopes.  Priced from $100 (on sale) to $165 (full price), Marmot’s Furlong Jacket offers warmth with style all winter long.

Great style tips for Spring!

The spring wardrobe is all about shaking off the dull, drab colours of winter and vamping them up with bold, bright, eye-catching colours.

Coral, peach and Orange are definitely big hits this spring. Not only are they eye-catching but they also complement most skin tones. Complementing your hair colour is a little more tricky so experiment with the intensity of the shades.

Colour blocking  is very in again, teeming canary yellow with aqua marine or cobalt blue would definitely get you seen this season.

Yellow is very much en Vogue this season too. whether it’s just a hint in your accessories or a full on yellow dress. look out for canary yellow and mustard shades to fully bring your drab, winter wardrobe up to date.

A surprising but warmly welcomed addition to the yellows and corals would be the contrast of mint shades…

Spring Jacket – Patagonia Pipe Down

Patagonia Women's Pipe Down Jacket

A great jacket for skiing/snowboarding or to wear around town on cold days.  The diagonal chevron quilting minimizes bulk and the cut is very complimentary to my figure.  Patagonia’s Deluge water repellant treatment keeps me dry and warm all day.  The premium goose down (600- and 800-fill-power) and the insulated hood with the fleece-lined collar is an effective shield from the wind.  I was surprised to find extra perks like a stretchy, removable powder skirt to keep out the snow and a pocket on the chest for easy access to my iPod with a cutout for earphones.  This jacket keeps me at the perfect temperature regardless of the weather conditions.
